The Sexton Field Troop

Now previously I put up that I had Sextons. True, I have some done up in 1/72, another in the old Battlefront Minatures Resin and metal. These are the plastic ones.

The Challenger Tank destroyer

Take a tank slap a 17lb Anti-tank gun on it and send it out to destroy Tigers and Panthers

The Chaffee Recce Patrol

Can a tank be cute? I think so. I've been interested in this tank since I saw it in Godzilla movies and Battle of the Bulge

Kangaroo Rifle Platoon

This Rifle platoon could be British or Canadian

The Ram Kangaroo began life as a Canadian tank which never saw service as a gun tank but was modified as an improvised armoured personnel carrier and a self propelled gun.

The Pacific

This book was a companion to the HBO series. My Dad found it in a yard sale and gifted it to me after I completed my Land Element Training Course as part of my officer training into the Canadian Forces.

It expands on the works of Helmet for my Pillow and With the Old Breed.

Blitzkrieg!

This is one of the early war sets which Battlefront have put put. Im not one to get this period much but the tanks I can add to my North Africa forces for both the British and Afrika Korps.

Even better is that this set is one of the newest releases from Battlefront Minatures as part of their Early War series for 2026!

The set consists of 2 Panzer 38(t) tanks which had been built for the Czechoslovakian army before the Germans invaded and basically stole them without compensation to the company which built them.

The British Light MK IV Tank was the only one the British had in sufficient quantities to take on the Germans in France.

The Canadian 3rd Division will advance

So while on my deployment to Gagetown this summer with cadets, I was able to stop by the hobby shop in Fredericton and get myself some goodies!

The first set is BRITISH starter set which will become the Canadian 3rd Division. It has the Armour and Artillery plus infantry I wanted. Sweet!

This starter set was marketed as British Bulge series, basically late war December 1944 to May 1945.

My 53rd birthday Shermans

These are the ones I got over the winter. I picked up 2 more. I'll have a Firefly and a regular one done up

IS-2 Stalins answer to the Tiger.

This tank which the 57th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment field3d was one of the most powerful tanks the Soviets produced during the Great Patriotic War.

Having a 122mm gun, it could push throughout any battle it faced but could still be vulnerable to Panzerfaust or Panzershrecks.

Im currently waiting for the paint to dry on my latest batch.

Im not sure what it is that I like so much about this tank. It could be its armor and gun. The Soviets really went all out on this. The next generation of the tank is IS-3 which went on to serve the Soviets in the Cold War.

I do plan on running these to support other second rate factions in Cold War games. Not sure if the Cuban Army would have used them. North Korea definitely had them in the 60s.

MMG Carriers

My 2 carriers I have built via the Plastic Soldier Company

For the game, the carriers can act as transport for the gun teams or they can fore from the carrier. Ive seen larger models done up for The New Brunswick Rangers

The 17pdr Anti-tank gun.

This kit my Dad built this Matchbox kit back in the 1970s. I had to repair it sometime back in the 1990s and is the only one I have as a pure 17pdr. I have 2 others as 17/25pdrs by Plastic Soldier Company.

I believe I have a stat card for it but once I can get some more from Battlefront Ill make due with the Firefly stats.

The Bofors

Dad was able to buy a single Bogors gun.

Initially I really didn't really know what to do woth it. I usually don't have any German planes come in. However its always good to have around.
Also, it could do some damage to infantry or soft skin vehicles. If I ever am able to get a second gun, I'd have a battery.

Humber Armoured Car

Ive been working on this kit for about a year. I've gotten 1 fully built. Work and cadets has kept me from doing up the rest.

In FOW, to run a troop, I'd need 3 with the 37mm gun. I belive i have enough to run 2 troops at the moment.

Needs some extra bits and paint
Im building up the last one in the kit.

The Priest: The Royal Artillery

The Priest is another kit Dad had bought. Over time I was able to get 2 more.

To field a battery for the table I'd need up to 4. I have 2 so a single battery it will be.

So I shall hold this for my 11th Armoured Division actions.

Comet, 11th Armoured Divisions answer to the Panther

Years ago, when my Dad started our 1/76 collection, he bought either Airfix or Matchbox kits. One of the kits he got was the Comet.

The Comet was a late war British tank design which eventually was given to the 11th Armoured Division. It had a 77mm gun which at that stage could take on most of what the Germans could through at them.

My Flames of War (Battlefront Minatures) card shoes that a troop can either be 3 or 4 tanks.

I believe that I now have 3 with another as the troop HQ.

Once the weather warms up, I plan to get some games going again

Jagdpanzer

Im still working on the kits I got last year (or was that 2 years ago) for my FOW collection. This vehicle in the picture is in the Canadian War Museum collection in Ottawa.

Panther platoons

So I was able to get some more Panthers from Plastic Soldier Company in 15mm for my new smaller battles. Smaller in scale but bigger in deployment.

The kit has 5 tanks

So I'll check woth what I have and flesh out my current platoons.

I shall have to paint some more

Dug in Jagpanther

So with the Vallejo Mud effect, I've decided to use my spare hull bits to build some dug in tanks with spare bits I have.
Im working on a second so that I can field a platoon.
