The 51st Highland Division, North-west Europe 1944-45

This is my 1/72 version of the famous 51st Highland Division which had been nearly destroyed in 1940, reraised, fought in North Africa and Italy then sent to Normandy.

Now as you can see, not all units are at full strength which is how I'm probobly going to keep it to reflect the casualties they had incured.

Presently (2026), the units depicted consist of:

152nd Infantry Brigade

2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders (old 78th Highlanders): 4 stands

5th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders: 2 stands

5th Battalion, Queens Own Cameron Highlanders: 4 stands

153rd Infantry Brigade

1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders: 4 stands

5th Battalion Black Watch: 2 stands

5/7th Battalion Gordon Highlanders: 3 stands on 1.

154th Infantry Brigade

1st Battalion Black Watch: 1 stand

7th Battalion Black Watch: 1 stand

7th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders: 1 stand

Weapons support

1/7th Battalion Middlesex Regiment

Vickers MMG, 81mm Mortar, 2x 6pdr Anti-tank gun with Universal Carriers

HQ: Major- General D.N. Wimberley with a Willys Jeep .50 HMG

Another aspect of this Division is the fact that due to its extensive combat experience,  they were a bit cautious with attacks.
