This kit is produced by a Japanese toy company with the title World Tank Museum. About 12 years ago, this company made a series of AFV which you could buy at convience stores for around 450 yen or just under 5.00 Canadian. I snapped up a large amount of them and have several different models including Panzer IV, Panzer V, Panther, 88mm guns, Sherman Mk 4, Sherman Firefly, Tigers, T-34/76 and T-34/85. Imagine my surpise when I found that this company is making them again! However for the moment, they are concentrating on German viechles from 1940.
Included with each box is a small manga cartoon book for all those Japanese geeks who insist on having them. It's all in Japanese so I just have as a visual reference and if I ever want to actually learn to read it.
The interesting marketing gig for this is that the box artwork gives you a chance at three different models in three different colour schemes. There is also an instruction manual which is fairly straight forward. There is also a small piece of gum as well, though that is not important.
So I will plan on heading to the nearest used shop to pick up some more of the original series so that I can begin to fight battle from Grampie's war. 1/72 is still my perfered scale, but when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. All my 25mm-28mm is still gathering dust at my father's home now. Better then having them chewed on by mice at my friends barn! Though it was generous of him to let me use that barn when I had no other place for storage.
