Envelope the Commando, Walchern, Holland, January, 1945
German units begin to advance toward positions held by the Royal Marines.
A small Dutch hamlet on Walchern is about to be fought over again, having already been smashed by air strikes and artillery.
The Commandos hole onto any ground they can find.
More Commandos are holding up in the ruins.
despite holding good positions the Commandos had little support. As the Germans advanced, they took each house.
