while the King Tigers are smashing the British armor

The King Tiger and Brumbar armor keeps getting built

So far, the Germans have increased by a short barrelled Panzer IV and a King Tiger getting put together. As well as a Brummbar
The intent is to get a spring 1945 a going.
with my job affected by the Covid 19 Crisis, I will be able to get on some updates with this blog.
Both German tanks have been  built. My idea is to run a campaign of the British and Canadians taking on the Germans in the Rhineland.

my Mindy wants to take on the King tiger

Soviet hoarded attack SS, Prussia, 1945

This scenario based on Maximum Attrition, pits a Soviet Guard Division hitting a Waffen SS LSSAH to hold off an assault on a crossroads. On a point by point basis, the game was a draw. The SS systematic took out all but one of the Soviet armor.
The Red onslaught

Waffen SS try to stem the Soviet hordes

Gorilla glue stands by in case of figure mishaps

The Soviet objective, get the crossroad

While the Soviets did take the cross roads, the SS used their firepower to knock out all of the Soviet mortars, and were able to whipe out the Soviet Cossacks.
The Soviets did have an advantage in Infantry which they used to swarm the Nazi Armor.

German 16th Division in Italy 1943

I am modelling this division as it fits in with my gamming for either the Eastern Front or the Italian campaign.
Another version of this division was also reconstituted as the 179th Panzer Reserve division where it was badly broken at Falise.
As the 116th it was comprised of: and had a Greyhound as its insignia.
  • 16th Panzer Regiment: Modeled with Panzer III
  • 60th Panzergrenadier Regiment
  • 156th Panzergrenadier Regiment
  • 146th Panzer Artillery Regiment
  • 116th Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion
  • 281st Army Flak Battalion modeled with 88mm gun in 15mm
  • 228th Panzerjager Battalion modeled with StuG III in 15mm
  • 675th Panzer Engineer Battalion
  • 228th Panzer Signals Battalion
  • 146th Field-Replacement Battalion

Soviet Union vs Germans in Auce, Latvia Point Defense scenario 1944

The Germans begin their counter attack upon the Soviet forces

The SS throw an entire Panzer division at the Soviets

Boris and Ivan pull some surprises on Johann and Dietrich. First off, T-34/76 ambush Tigers and Panthers, Oh MY!

The German recce units continue to fall victim to T-34/85 but then

This is a Nebelwefer

this is what it does to Soviet Armor.

A desperate firefight begins between Soviet and German tanks.

And the battle continues.

The Soviets began to counter act the Nebelwefer with their own rocket battery.
The rest of the game was spent having Panzergrenadiers retake the farm complex
and clearing out the hamlet. The Soviets continue to resist, and at nightfall, both sides hold their positions The Germans appear to be holding the upper hand.
